Description

Erin Simunds PT, MS This course meets the Minnesota statutory requirement for ethics training as outlined in MR 5601.2100.  Physical therapists must meet this requirement for each licensure renewal period. As physical therapists navigate patient care, productivity expectations, billing complexities, and reimbursement limitations, they encounter various points of ethical consideration. This presentation explores various types of ethical dilemmas, defined as situations where more than one course of action appears possible but cannot occur simultaneously. It proposes a quadripartite model of ethical analysis to consider all stakeholder perspectives. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the model toward a relevant physical therapy scenario and build the capacity to manage paradoxical situations. This course meets the Minnesota Board of PT Ethics CE requirement standards.
