Nikki Ron and Sally Olmstead from the Mayo Clinic published a research paper in the Journal of Women and Pelvic Health Physical Therapy in 2026.  Their paper was “ The Feasibility and Preliminary Effectiveness of a 6-Week Independent Cadence Retraining Program on Parous Runners With Stress Urinary Incontinence.”  Assisting in the research were students Layne Collum, Sarah Conway, Elyse Hayes, Abigail Kolacz, and Faculty Member John Hollman from the Mayo Clinic Program in Physical Therapy.  The researchers found significant improvement in cadence, decreases in vertical oscillation, and improvement in urinary incontinence.
