Cameron Cooper and Victoria Maiz from TRIA Physical Therapy in Burnesville spoke at the APTA Minnesota in Motion Annual Conference. They presented “Dancer’s Hip: Considerations for Treating Dancers with Hip Pathologies.” Cameron and Victoria discussed common hip conditions in dancers including FAI, snapping hip, and hip flexor tendonitis, the biomechanics of common dance positions and their possible pain mechanisms, and interventions/what return to dance following an injury should look like.
Cameron is Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. He is a member of TRIA’s Orthopedic Residency, and a clinical mentor and faculty member with Northwestern’s Manual Therapy Fellowship.
Victoria is also Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She grew up as a competitive dancer and has a special interest in performing arts physical therapy. Victoria is a member of the Dance Committee and the Performing Arts Team at TRIA.
