Erin Simunds from Bethel University PT Program, Dan Kirkpatrick from Motion PT in St. Paul along with Concordia University PT students Reese Crowell, Tanner Johnson, and Andy Nordstrom presented at the APTA Minnesota in Motion Annual Conference. Their topic was “BFR New Frontiers Part II: Translation into Practice for Neurologic and Developmental Conditions.” The group discussed application of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training beyond traditional orthopedic settings with emphasis on neurologic and developmental conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome.
Erin has served many roles within APTA MN including VP of Regulatory Affairs. She was the recipient of the APTA MN Marilyn Woods Long Term Service Award in 2022.
Dan is Board Certified as a Neurology Clinical Specialist. His professional interests include manual therapy, pain neuroscience education, corrective movement, dry needling and education.
