Corri Stuyvenberg from the University of Minnesota PT Program spoke at the APTA Minnesota in Motion Annual Conference. She presented “Physical Therapists’ Potential Impact on Parent-Infant Relationships in the Transition from the NICU to Home.”  Corri discussed research and application relating to the diverging trajectories of term-born and preterm parent-infant relationships.  In addition, she talked about the predictive qualities of the Emotional Availability Scales when administered in the hospital prior to discharge for term- and preterm parent-infant dyads, and addressing the importance of timing of early physical therapy interventions to both the developing parent-infant relationship and developmental outcomes for preterm infants and their families.

Corri is a Board Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist and an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist.  She is responsible for coordinating and instructing pediatric physical therapy coursework at the U of MN.
