Hugo Klaers from St. Catherine University PT Program presented at the APTA Minnesota in Motion Annual Conference. His topic was “BFR New Frontiers Part I: Setting the Stage: Foundational Principles for Application to a Wider Patient Population.” He was joined by St. Kate’s faculty member Steve Elmer and students Kaylee Sullivan and Hannah Symalla.
The group discussed how to apply Blood Flow Restriction Training in orthopedic, cardiovascular/pulmonary, and neuromuscular settings with special attention on medical screening, patient selection, exercise protocol selection, and patient outcomes.
Hugo is Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and also serves as the Director for the Human Anatomy Lab at St. Catherine University.
