APTA MN Chapter Award
Tom Lehman, the APTA MN Lobbyist for many years, received the “Friend of Physical Therapy Award” for 2026. He was nominated by Anne Johnson and Megan Urick. Tom consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of legislative and regulatory issues affecting physical therapy and communicated complex policy matters in a clear, actionable way for clinicians and association leaders.
He played an instrumental role in passing the Physical Therapy Compact and the Disability Parking Access for physical therapists. He was also critical in achieving approval for PTA observation via telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tom built strong, trusted relationships with legislators and stakeholders across Minnesota.
